Job Description

Help us shape the future of Chicago civic startups! Civic Exchange is a group of civic-minded organizations, companies and individuals who work in media, data, access to information, and government accountability coming together to share office space (when possible!), resources and collaborate to produce better information and policies with and for the public. 2021 will be a pivotal time for our member companies and the civic ecosystem to re-imagine a new path forward based on the learnings from an intense and unpredictable 2020.

Please read this brief synopsis of our high level strategy for 2021

Develop the design and strategy for Civic Exchange events and summits which will be mostly virtual in 2021, hopefully becoming in-person at some point in the year.

Oversee Events and work with the Development Director. You’ll be leading strategic execution of the roadmap as well as events, and oversee events in planning logistics and administration. You’ll work closely with the Development Director to identify possible financial support and co-develop documents needed to secure grants or investment.

Contribute to building a broad network of civic founders and startups who would like to participate in the Civic Exchange community.

Document and share best practices and insights from the events, and post them on the Civic Exchange website and associated social media.
